Field service software pricing, as published by the vendors

Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan and Odoo — entry rates, the cost of every extra technician, and what happens as the crew grows.

Entry prices in field service software look similar; extra-user rates do not. Jobber publishes $49/month with additional users at $29/month. Housecall Pro publishes $59/month with extra users at $75-100/month. ServiceTitan publishes nothing. Crew size, not the headline plan, decides the answer.

The most common mistake in this category is comparing entry plans. Most of them include exactly one user. What you actually pay is set by how many technicians need access. Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, linked in the sources section; where a vendor publishes nothing, we say "not published" rather than estimating.

The options one by one

Jobber — the lowest cost of growth

Jobber publishes four tiers. On no-commitment monthly billing: Core $49, Connect $139, Grow $199 and Plus $499 per month. The first three include one user; Plus includes five. The line that matters most is published clearly and applies to every plan: additional users at $29 per month.

Jobber also publishes substantially lower annual prepaid rates and runs seasonal promotions. Promotions are temporary, so build your budget on the standing monthly rate and treat any discount as upside rather than as the plan.

A good fit when: you run a crew of 1-10 with a fairly standard quote–schedule–invoice flow, and you expect to add people. At $29 per extra technician, growth does not break the budget. A poor fit when: you need contracted preventive maintenance schedules, penalty tracking or equipment lifetime history — none of that is in the published feature set — or when local e-invoicing must be handled inside the same system.

Housecall Pro — seat bundles built into the plan

Housecall Pro publishes three plans. Billed annually: Basic $59/month (1 user), Essentials $149/month (5 users), Max $299/month (8 users). Billed monthly the same plans are $79, $189 and $329.

The decisive detail is also published: extra users cost $100/month on Essentials and $75/month on Max. Compared with Jobber's $29, exceeding your seat allowance is expensive. The flip side is that the bundled seats make the plans competitive when your crew size lands close to five or eight.

A good fit when: your headcount sits near a plan's seat allowance and stays stable, so you use the bundle efficiently. A poor fit when: your crew grows unevenly — going two or three people over an allowance moves the monthly cost sharply.

ServiceTitan — enterprise scale, quote-based pricing

ServiceTitan publishes no figures. Its pricing page lists Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a "Request Pricing" button, and states that pricing is per technician and designed to fit businesses of any size.

We are not treating this as a weakness. Quote-based pricing is normal at enterprise scale and lets the vendor shape a package around a large operation. The practical consequence for a buyer is simply this: your budgeting waits for the quote, and ServiceTitan cannot be placed in a numeric comparison until it arrives.

A good fit when: you run dozens of technicians and want dispatch, call centre, sales and marketing on one platform. A poor fit when: you are a small crew that wants to know the price before booking a demo.

Odoo Field Service — for businesses already running Odoo

Odoo does not price field service separately. Its Standard plan (€11.90 per user per month billed yearly, €14.80 monthly) and Custom plan (€17.90 yearly, €22.40 monthly) both include all apps. Odoo Studio, multi-company and the External API sit in Custom only — so integrating the field app with your ERP or a mobile layer requires the Custom plan.

A good fit when: you want inventory, purchasing, accounting and field service in one system; the per-user cost is among the lowest here. A poor fit when: you only want the field service module and will not deploy the rest of Odoo — in that scenario implementation effort can outweigh the licence saving.

Custom field service systems (where KodDelta sits)

Custom software earns its place in field service at three specific points: contracted preventive maintenance calendars (which asset at which customer is due when, and what happens when it slips), equipment-centric history (every intervention a machine has ever had, in one record), and company-specific work order flows (your form fields, your approval steps, your penalty rules).

KodDelta publishes its bands: $3,000-6,000 for a single-process solution (2-4 weeks), $8,000-15,000 for a multi-module system (4-8 weeks), $20,000+ for an end-to-end platform (3-6 months), and $5,000-12,000 for a retrieval-augmented AI assistant over your own documents. Maintenance is optional at 12-25% per year. There is no per-user charge and no user cap, which is the whole point at scale.

A poor fit when: you are a three-person crew that started last year. At that size a Jobber-tier subscription is cheaper and available today; a custom build only pays off once the process has settled. We say that at the quotation stage rather than selling a project that should not exist.

What happens as the crew grows

Run the published numbers at three sizes and the picture changes completely.

  • Three technicians. A subscription wins outright — it is cheaper, and it is running this afternoon. A custom build should not even be on the table at this size.
  • Ten technicians. Jobber adds nine users at $29/month on top of the plan. Housecall Pro Max bundles eight and adds the rest at $75/month. Odoo multiplies ten users by the full plan rate. The models converge here, and the decision moves away from price and toward whether the product fits your process.
  • Twenty-five and above. Per-user fees are now the dominant line, and they repeat every year. A one-time build with no user cap can move ahead on total cost. Can — not will. Run it with your own numbers, over five years, before deciding either way.

Three lines are commonly forgotten in that arithmetic: annual-billing discounts, payment processing fees if you use the vendor's built-in payments, and any local invoicing integration you have to solve separately. For our own scope and bands, see the field service page and pricing page.

Test your own situation in three questions

  1. How many technicians will have logins in two years? Under ten and a subscription almost certainly wins. Over twenty, convert the extra-user rate into an annual figure and put it beside a model with no user cap — that single number usually settles the debate.
  2. Do you sell contracted maintenance? If your work is one-off calls, packaged software is enough. If you owe scheduled visits per asset, with entitlements and penalties, that flow is not in any of the published feature lists above and will need configuration or a custom build.
  3. Where will the invoice be raised? If you are content to keep invoicing in a separate accounting system, nothing here blocks you. If everything must live in one place, price that integration explicitly before you compare plans.

If two of the three answers land on "large crew, contracted maintenance, one system", a custom build is worth pricing. If they do not, start with a subscription today — that is what we would tell you in the meeting too.

Frequently asked questions

What does field service software cost per month?

Published entry rates: Jobber Core $49/month on no-commitment monthly billing, Housecall Pro Basic $59/month billed annually ($79 monthly), Odoo Standard €11.90 per user per month billed yearly. ServiceTitan publishes no figures at all and asks you to request pricing for its Starter, Essentials and The Works tiers.

How much does each extra technician cost?

This is where the real difference sits. Jobber publishes additional users at $29/month on every plan. Housecall Pro publishes $100/month per extra user on Essentials and $75/month on Max. Odoo charges the full plan rate for every user. On a 20-technician crew these lines matter far more than the headline plan price.

Which plans include more than one user?

Jobber Core, Connect and Grow include one user each; Plus includes five. Housecall Pro includes one user on Basic, five on Essentials and eight on Max. So a five-person crew and a nine-person crew can end up in very different places on the same price list — count seats before comparing headline numbers.

Why does ServiceTitan not publish prices?

Its pricing page lists three tiers — Starter, Essentials and The Works — with a "Request Pricing" button on each, and states that pricing is per technician and shaped to the size of the business. That is a legitimate enterprise sales model, not a flaw; the practical consequence is that you cannot budget until a quote arrives.

When does a custom field service system make sense?

Three situations: a large technician headcount, because per-user fees compound every year; contracted preventive maintenance schedules with penalties and entitlement tracking, which is not in the published feature lists; and equipment-centric history, where every machine carries its full service record. KodDelta publishes $3,000-6,000 and $8,000-15,000 bands for this work.

Do these products handle local invoicing and tax rules?

Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan are built primarily for the North American market and their published feature lists do not cover country-specific electronic invoicing regimes. If you operate where e-invoicing is mandatory, budget that integration as a separate line rather than assuming it is included.
